For American Students

The Cultural Exchange Community enables you to take full advantage of being able to share your culture and Clemson family community with others.  Programming and activities allow you to engage in discussion and interact with students from different cultures.  You will be able to room with  international students and gain a better understanding of other cultures’ perspectives and traditions as well as your own through interacting with them.

For International Students

The Cultural Exchange Community provides you with the opportunity to learn more about  U.S. culture and the Clemson community first hand from local students.  Programming and housing arrangements allow you to interact with students from multiple cultures as well as see other parts of Clemson and the state.  Living with native English speakers helps residents with conversational English skills.

Resident Cultural Assistants

To assist with the development of the Community, Clemson provides two Resident Cultural Assistants (RCA).  Their duties include living in the community, interacting effectively with all residents, and coordinating with the Resident Director and Resident Assistants for Calhoun Courts to provide cultural programming, intellectual exchange, and resources.  The CEC is a thriving living/learning community—the goal of all involved is to create and support interactions among the residents, to learn about each other’s culture, and to build a creative and unique educational residence.
